The corporeal body is going to be used as a lab. When we transport this vessel across the vast expanses of the planet, interesting things do happen. The vessel has five senses (many argue that there are far more) which receives signals, sends them to the brain and then processes them. There are the visual pictures, images and motions perceived with the eyes; there are the distinct whines and machinations of this post-modern era that we receive through our ears; there are smell records of memories and dangers via olfactory nerves; there are pains and sensations and sensual pleasures detected through touch; and there are the mouthwatering delectables of taste required whenever the corpus is refueled. We are expected, as artists, to take the processes and create to give back for the pleasure of other corporeal beings who wish to learn from our perspectives, at least that’s why we are alive in the first place. This research tool, the body, this postmodern biomechanoid creature, will be taking some walks.
